D.O. Rueda launches search for first Rueda Wine Ambassadors.
Open to trade professionals who are passionate about wine,
Spain and specifically the diversity in D.O. Rueda wines.
Rueda, August 2022 – The Rueda Wine Ambassadors is the first competition of its kind to be held in the UK. D.O. Rueda is looking for two Rueda Wine Ambassadors: a sommelier/on-trade professional and an off-trade influencer, both with a passion for wine and to help promote wines from the D.O. Rueda.
Winners will win a trip to the region this autumn and a £1,000 bursary and runners-up will win a case of Rueda wine with some exclusive Rueda promotional gifts.
To enter participants should create a short brief on how they would best promote D.O. Rueda wines if they were to become the Rueda Wine Ambassador this year. Ideas should innovative and exciting with the aim of engaging with trade professionals in their sector to spread the word and create buzz around D.O. Rueda and its wines.
The winning presentation will then be executed over a three-month period between October 2022 and end April 2023.
Entrants will then be invited to attend an educational seminar towards the beginning of October to find out about the region and present their ideas to the judges.
The search for this year’s Rueda Wine Ambassador will run online on the tasterueda.uk website and social media channels with additional support from leading trade press in the UK.
Call for entries starts on 1st September and the trip will take place in October. The two Rueda Wine Ambassadors will promote the region using their winning campaign to motivate their followers over a three-month period between November 2022 and April 2023.
